Dr. Wallace will enhance his services from an insurance-driven model to a patient care model.
Starting on August 1, 2023, Dr Wallace will no longer be a participating provider with private insurance companies and Medicare. Dr. Lee, Ashley, and Wallace & Lee Infusion will continue to bill your insurance.
A visit with Dr. Wallace is about you, the patient and not the insurance company. In the last several years, the insurance company has made it all about them. They dictate when you can be seen and how your doctor takes care of you.
We know that the cost of medical care can be expensive. Insurance premiums and deductibles go up every year, insurances dictate which medications you can have and where to get them, and they even tell which specialist to see and when you can do that. Dr. Wallace is trying to alleviate some of that frustration.
Many of you have been with our practice for 20+ years and are like family. This is why Dr. Wallace is committed to providing you with the best care possible.

Follow-up Visits
Follow-up visits include triage with one of our medical assistants, who has been with us for many years and know our patients very well. You will go over recent medical history and/or current changes in how you are feeling, medications and vital signs. You will have a PATIENT focused visit with Dr Wallace. He will discuss your health and address any recent changes. Dr. Wallace will then refill medication after making any adjustments needed, order diagnostic testing if warranted, and give referrals if needed. Dr. Wallace will discuss the possibility of one of his colleagues following your routine follow-up care.
Once your visit is complete, you will have any lab testing done that was ordered and make your next appointment at check out. Dr. Wallace will order autoimmune testing, if necessary, this is sent to outside labs and those tests can be billed to your insurance and are subject to your individual policy.
The Fee for an office visit is $300.
New Patient Consultation
Finding the right rheumatologic case is a very difficult thing to do. We understand that many people travel very long distances to see Dr. Wallace, and many have seen several other doctors and have not gotten any answers. That is why you have come to Dr. Wallace. He takes great pride in the years of experience that has allowed the education of new Rheumatologists, the many new treatments he has pioneered, his participation in clinical trials that have brought new treatment to the community, and the answers he as provided to thousands of patients.
Your consultation will be very inclusive. Our front office experience leaders will collect all intake forms and medical records prior to scheduling your visit. Dr Wallace will spend time reviewing those records and searching care everywhere for additional medical records and testing that you may have had done with an EPIC provider.
You will meet one of our outstanding medical assistants, who have been with us for many years. You will get to know these medical professionals very well. You will go over medical, surgical, social, and diagnostic history, current medications, and they will check your vital signs. You will have a PATIENT focused consultation with Dr Wallace. He will discuss your health, history, concerns. He will go over his thoughts, listen to your concerns, and order all appropriate testing. When appropriate, Dr. Wallace will order autoimmune testing that is sent to outside labs and those can be billed to your insurance and are subject to your policy.
You will then have lab testing done and then schedule a conference visit at check out.
During your conference appointment Dr. Wallace will go over all the test results and give is opinion on your condition. If you do need ongoing care, Dr. Wallace will design an ongoing treatment plan with you and match you to one of his associates for follow up care. His associates will bill most private insurance and Medicare.
The fee for a New Patient consultation is $1000.
The fee for the follow-up conference is $200.
Lab testing and office procedures
All lab testing will be billed through health insurance.Diagnostic testing is essential because blood, urine, autoimmune testing, and imaging provide the tangible information that I need to design the proper care for you. Chemistries will be run in our clinic and injections such as Kenalog, B12, joint injections, and joint aspirations, will be given; all of which are essential to your care.
Telemedicine
Dr Wallace will continue to provide the convenience of telehealth services. Telehealth is medical care that is provided to patients via phone or complicated portal interactions. Medication changes and refill can be done during these visits.
The fee for telemedicine is $225 per visit.
Dr. Lee and Ashley PA-C
Dr. Lee and Ashley remain in-network with Blue Cross PPO, Blue Shield PPO, and Medicare. They are also able to bill out of network insurances for you.
Therefore, you can schedule your continued care with one of Dr. Wallace’s colleagues. He is always available to consult his colleagues about your care. Dr Wallace will join the end of your first visit with Ashley.
Infusion Center and Research
There will be no changes to the billing practices or our Infusion department. All PPO insurance and Medicare will be billed.
There will be no changes to the care received in our Research department.
