Sun Sensitivity and Summer Activities

It’s the middle of June and you’re getting stir crazy at home… what are your options? The beach seems like a flare up waiting to happen, the park is going to feel like an oven, there has to be some other way to escape the heat and still have a good time. If you’re in the LA area, there are plenty of ways that you could enjoy your day without risking your health.

Feeling artsy? Take a gander at these museums

LACMA – https://www.lacma.org/

Residents of LA get in for free Monday-Friday after 3pm.

Parking is $18 or $10 if you park after 8pm.

La Brea Tar Pit – https://tarpits.org/

The outdoor area is free.

Residents of LA get in for free daily from 3-5pm.

Parking is $15.

Griffith Observatory – https://griffithobservatory.org/

The Observatory building, grounds and public telescope are free and open Friday-Sunday.

Planetarium tickets are $5 for students with a school ID, $7 for 13 years and older, $5 for 60 years and older.

Parking is $4 per hour.

Getty Villa – http://www.getty.edu/visit/

Admission is free, you can reserve an entry time online.

Parking is $20 per car or motorcycle or $15 if you park after 3pm.

California Science Center – https://californiasciencecenter.org/

Time-entry reservation is necessary and has a $3 service fee.

Parking is $15 until 5pm or $18 if you park after 5pm.

Hammer Museum – https://hammer.ucla.edu/

Admission is free.

Parking is $7 for the first 3 hours (with museum validation), $3 for each additional 20 minutes, with a $20 maximum for the day.
